I recently started to have worship music on in our home while I am doing other things with the kids. Luke noticed very quickly. He started making up dances to the songs and wanting to perform them for me. Also, I heard him singing Hosanna in the Highest while he was walking up the stairs the other day! Oh, how I love to see him worship!

Bennett got to meet his Great Grandma Ruth for the first time. We are so excited she moved to PA so she can be more apart of our lives! In the same visit, Ben got a chance to be loved on by some of his cousins!

The boys and I were on the way to the dollar store, but I didn't know where the closest store was located so I called John to have him look it up on the computer. Luke overheard my conversation with John. He asked me, "Did dad find the dollar store with the telescope?"

Hallelujah Parade and Trick or Treating

Luke's school had a Hallelujah parade celebrating what God made. They paraded around the school and then sang some songs. Luke dressed up as a motorcycle driver.

A local farm had a fall fest this past weekend. We enjoyed a pig race, picking pumpkins, a hayride and mini golf!

Fire Safety Days

Luke took his first firetruck ride the other day! He loves firetrucks, but he has always been too afraid to get on or even near them. It was a big day for him that he got to ride in a firetruck, see a helicopter landing and many other firetrucks at a local fire station open house.

John's first post:
The desire to be baptized has been impressed upon me for past few years. I needed to do this because for years my heart had grown cold and unresponsive towards Him. I was not growing closer to Him and I was perfectly comfortable being an undercover Christian out in the world. Thank God for His patience and forgiveness because Jesus has called me back into a growing, personal relationship. Even though I was saved and baptized when I was very young, I felt the need to obey this command as an adult. I wanted to stand in the water as a man, knowing what I was saying, and be publicly identified with Jesus the Christ. He has paid my penalty on the cross, forgiven my sins, given me everlasting life and the Holy Spirit. I have never been more satisfied with life and excited to live every moment for Jesus. I owe Him my all and want to be held accountable. Thanks to all who were able to come to this event in my walk with Him on June 19th. I will never forget the day.

Booty Camp Mom

I started potty training Luke yesterday. I heard about this nurse and mother who said she can train a toddler in one day. She is referred to as the booty camp mom. I filled Luke up with sugary drinks, salty foods and took off his diaper yesterday. I made him help clean up his own messes. He also has to tell me when he has to go potty. I haven't been putting him on the potty every 30 minutes, etc. I think he has done pretty well for the first day and a half. A lot of messes the first couple of hours, but since then only a couple of messes and a lot more successes! I am very thankful he is motivated by the candy he gets as rewards!

Luke went to the zoo with some of his friends on Friday. I think he had the most fun at the park that was in the zoo! We can save some money next time by just taking him and his friends to the local park.

Luke and I are in the bathroom this morning while I am getting ready for the day. He turns and says to me, "I am not going to drink the toliet water today because it is dirty." I told him that was good idea. Later, I am thinking what would make him say that? Did he try to drink the toliet water another day when he didn't think it was dirty? Gross!

Today Luke also picked up a worm today, sliced it into 2 and wanted to take it into the YMCA today so he could show his friends. What do I do with a 2 year old boy?!

Luke likes to call us the names that he has heard us being called recently. When he is around his cousins, he likes to call us Uncle John and Aunt Michelle. When we are at home together, we will often hear him call us both honey. We will hear something like, "Honey, can I have some milk?" I wonder if we call each other honey often?

John and I noticed Luke talking about being God's helper one day. He would say, "sing God's helper." We asked him several times what he was talking about. He just kept saying, "I am God's helper." Neither of us can remember talking about being God's helper. We don't know if it is a song, but we figured he learned this sometime while being at church. Since then, I have heard him talking about being God's helper while he was playing with cars, reading books, coloring, etc. What a great reminder to me that no matter what I am doing at any given moment, I should be God's helper. It is not about me, I should give God the glory for everything! Thanks Luke!

While we were vacationing in Flordia, John and I thought it would be a good idea to ride bikes everyday to get some exercise. My aunt and uncle had 2 bikes and they lived on a beautiful golf course. So we thought we would explore the area.

After we started riding around for awhile, we noticed that the neighbors were laughing at us. I guess we kind of did look like the Wicked Witches from the West. We both got a good laugh at watching each other ride those bikes!

Siesta Key

One of our day trips in Flordia was to Sarasota. We LOVED the beach there! We had to make the 1 1/2 hour trip twice that week to go to Siesta Key Beach. We couldn't believe this beautiful beach had free parking and was open to the public. We both thought this beach was the nicest we had ever seen.

Note: Beware of banana hammocks in some of the following pictures.

We couldn't believe the number of birds that we saw on the beach. They weren't the nicest birds either. If you had food in your hand, they would snatch it right from you.

We also loved the sand! It almost had the consistency of baby powder and it was white!

In the following pictures you can see schools of fish. We thought it was pretty neat that SO many of them would just swim right around you.

John and I celebrated our anniversary and my birthday in Flordia this year! We stayed at my aunt and uncle's beautiful home in Fort Myers. We were there alone! My dad and Sally kept Luke! Luke loves firetrucks! Our local fire company had a fire safety event where they had food, games and firetrucks. Luke was really excited to go, but when we first got there he said, "I'm scared!" He did enjoy the firetrucks, eventually, but he refused to go in them. He did get a chance to use one of their hoses from the firetrucks.Here he is helping fight a fire!

Luke loves to say to John and I, "Nice to meet you." Then he will shake our hand.

His saying, "I love you" to John and I increases proportionatly at meal times. He will also say it more often when his favorite foods are served. The key to his heart was figured out at a very early age!

Luke enjoys watching sports on tv. One of his favorites is baseball. Every pitch is followed by a "good one" by Luke!

Joe and Tonya came to visit us last week. We had a great time! While Tonya was busy attending conferences, Joe painted and put new shelving systems in our closets. We also got to see our new cousins, Eli and Fiona. Fiona is pictured below. We can't wait to see them again on vacation!

After a great church service, we spent the afternoon at Nana and Pop-pop's. We were grateful to be able to celebrate Jesus' resurrection with family.

Luke got a chance to dye Easter eggs with our neighbor, Melanie. He was not so gentle with the eggs. This is him holding the egg before he winds up to throw it.

And now for a dance break. This is Luke doing some sort of chicken dance.

We spent the day in Reading dying eggs and playing in a park. We will have to get together again soon! We had a blast! Next time, Hans will have to come too.

Easter Egg Hunt

Luke and I went to a local church with his friends, Micah and Mya, to look for Easter eggs. Luke and Micah anticipating the hunt!
